Some years ago I helped an orthodox Jewish family in their shop, as well as help setting up their dining room table for the weekly Friday celebration, complete with candles, singing and of course the special meal.
Every Friday all eletrical appliances were forbidden for use. This was for their day of rest.
Through the years I found this practice of putting aside all electrical appliances and found this to be both spiritually rewarding, as well as feeling relaxed.
Lock down is similar to this, with our change of lifestyles either gardening or simply enjoying the countryaide.
I wonder whether anyone else has put aside their electrical appliances for the day?”
