Bishop Auckland Methodist Church

Young Church- Sunday 17th of January

This week, I would like you to think about how you can be the best friend to someone possible. What do you like about your best friend, and do you do that thing back to them? You could like how kind they are to you, so are you kind back to them? The saying ‘Treat others how you want to be treated’, is something that I think everyone needs to remember.

So, I would like you to get creative, and create a mindmap/Bubble map, about friendship. In the bubble, you will write ‘Treat others how you want to be treated’, and then around it, is everything you can do to be the best friend possible. These could include smiling at your friend, being kind, being helpful, or anything else you can think of. Think of aspects Jesus had, and how you can link them to yourself.

The Bible reading for this week is John 1.43-51. Click on the Bible reading to read it on Bible Gateway.

A prayer of praise and thanksgiving for children

We praise you, Lord Jesus, that we have your church to come to:
Hooray!
That we can see your love in the lives of others:
Hooray!
That we can hear your words in the Bible and be encouraged:
Hooray!
Amen. (Taken from roots on the web).
