The reading this week is John 15.9-17.
A gathering prayer for children
We meet in the name of God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
who chose us for his friends.
This week, I would like you to think about what makes a good friend to you. Is it their attitude you like? The way they look? The way they act?
Do they help you? What makes your friends so good? On a piece of paper, create a colourful bubble map of all the attributes of friendship it is that you like, or need.

A prayer of thanksgiving for children
We thank you, God,
that today and every day
you sing a song of love over the world you created.
Thank you for the love of friends and family.
Thank you that we can share love with others.
