Bishop Auckland Methodist Church

Young church – Sunday 2nd May

The reading this week is John 15.1-8 , click on the reading to read.

A gathering prayer for children

Jesus, you are the vine
Stand up straight and tall.
and we are the branches.
Hold arms out wide.
Thank you that we are connected
to you and to each other,
Hold hands with a partner.
rooted and grounded in love. Amen.

This week, I would like you all to draw a picture of a tree, and on the tree to draw loads of your favourite fruits. Apples, bananas, oranges, pears, grapes. Whatever your favourite fruits are, draw them on the tree. In these fruits, I would like you to write things you need to be thankful to God for.

‘ I am thankful for my friends and family’.

‘I am thankful to have a nice house and comfy bed to sleep in’.

‘I am thankful that I have nice food to eat every day’.

We should be thankful for everything we have. While writing these things, think about the people who do not have everything that we have. We are so lucky, and so loved by so many people.
