Ruth sent the above information in which describes a Volunteer Supportive Taxi service for Link 1 and 2. She says it is a free taxi service for anyone needing it and that a few members, including herself, have found them so useful especially for appointments and services. Supportive taxis use ambulances or cars, she explains and gives the telephone number: 01740 658885 for the service.
She also mentions the Foodbank at Woodhouse Close which is now back open on limited hours Mondays and Wednesdays 10-12noon, if anyone needs their help. Also, just to mention, as the churches aren’t open to collect donations, they need those who can to deliver in donations of food [or money] into them during these hours.
She also encourages us saying: “on the news it said that China’s virus crisis is declining with few victims. As China experienced the C-virus initially, this gives other countries hope, and the flu pandemic will gradually die out – hope springs eternal”.
Thank you Ruth for words of encouragement.
